Frequently asked questions

  • Yes. Corey works on farms and rural properties across North East Victoria. Farm electrical jobs include shearing shed switchboard upgrades, shed and yard lighting, water pump circuits, and weatherproof power for augers and farm equipment. He comes to the property to assess the job before quoting.

  • Often yes. Older switchboards, particularly those with ceramic fuses rather than modern circuit breakers, are frequently non-compliant with current Australian standards and may not have the capacity to handle a solar system or EV charger safely. Under AS/NZS 3000, the Australian wiring rules, an upgrade is required before new high-load equipment can be legally connected. Corey checks the switchboard as part of every solar and EV charger consultation. If an upgrade is needed, he quotes both together so there are no unexpected costs later.

  • Every solar and battery installation involves more than putting panels on a roof. Corey assesses your existing switchboard for compliance and capacity, checks your metering setup, and confirms your connection with AusNet Services, the local grid operator for North East Victoria. If a switchboard upgrade or meter reconfiguration is needed, this is identified and quoted upfront before any work begins. All installations are inspected and signed off to Australian standards, and Corey handles the paperwork so you don't have to.

  • Yes. Corey installs home EV chargers across North East Victoria for households with solar and without. A dedicated EV charger is significantly faster and more cost-effective than charging from a standard power point, and all installations are carried out to Australian standards and fully inspected. If you have solar, Corey can advise on the best setup to charge your vehicle from your own panels and reduce what you draw from the grid.

  • Yes. Corey holds the accreditation required to install solar systems that are eligible for government rebates, which reduce the upfront cost of your system. The savings are applied as a discount at the time of installation, no paperwork for you. Call Corey to find out what rebates apply to your home.

  • For most homes in North East Victoria, yes. The network covering Benalla, Wangaratta, Euroa, and Violet Town can experience regular outages during summer, a battery keeps your essential appliances running when the grid goes down. For homes with solar, it also means the energy you generate during the day stays available at night, reducing what you draw from the grid at peak rates. Corey can do site visit and give you an honest assessment on whether a battery makes sense for your home.

  • Yes. Corey provides a Certificate of Electrical Safety for all electrical work carried out by WattWise Solutions. A CES is a legal requirement in Victoria for any notifiable electrical work, including switchboard upgrades, new circuits, and installations, and is essential if you're leasing or selling a property. If you're a landlord or property manager in North East Victoria and need a CES for a rental property, call Corey directly on 0400 460 310.
